Growing up so close to a big temple like the D.C. temple, I didn’t think I’d see another temple built close by. But the time has come with the Philadelphia temple! We’ll still attend the D.C. temple, but with the Philadelphia temple, we have a unique opportunity to attend the open house and show our children the inside of the temple before they’d usually be able to. So we’re planning to pack up the kids and head to Philadelphia for a little trip.
Our youth are also planning a trip. I was asked to help with a logo, of sorts, for their temple trip–to put on the flyers and mementos, etc. It was interesting trying to draw the Philadelphia temple! It is tall and narrow from the front, but goes pretty far back in length. Because of this, many of the photos you see of the temple are at an angle. I decided to just go ahead and draw it from the tall and narrow side. It is an absolutely breath-taking building, designed with the historic Philadelphia buildings in mind.
Here is my very simplistic version of this gorgeous new temple! It’s yours to use for free for your own youth trip, family scrapbook, you name it!
As with all of my freebies, please be respectful of my work. If you’re going to share this, please send people back here to my website. This is for personal use only. You may not sell any products with this artwork.
You can read more about the LDS Philadelphia Temple here, reserve tickets to the open house here, or learn more about temples here. The general public, including children of all ages, is invited to attend an open house of the Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple. Admission is free, but reservations are requested.
Ready to download your files? I’ve made high resolution JPGs (white background) and PNGs (clear background) ready for printing at roughly 8.5 x 11 inches or less. They can be sized down without losing quality. If you have questions, just give me a shout in the comments or contact me here. I’d also love to hear or see what you’ve done with the illustrations if you have time to share!
