I love ths reminder! Of course, I'm not so naive to think this comes easily for everyone. I have troubled times in my life like you all do, but right now, I'm not dealing with sickness or loss of income. My family is healthy, our home is secure, and so much more. But it is still a difficult year! We can find joy each day even through struggles. And it'll look different for each of us. Mine is usually finding joy in nature and animals, which explains this illustration. 😍 How do you find joy when it feels like we just need to endure life?

Today is #WorldDayAgainstTrafficking and honestly, seeing what people are sharing to help raise awareness has been so, so hard for me. I've probably shared before, but I'm a highly sensitive person and I deal with anxiety. Both of those are things I've worked really hard on to ensure they don't take over my parenting. But as a mother, when I see information about child trafficking, I've just always had to turn away. And while I know I cannot keep all children safe, there have been a few things I've done with my own children to help them learn how to keep themselves safe. Again, I know this is not the only answer, but I do know these tips are things that all parents can do and I firmly believe in starting at home. Having these conversations about body safety early on with our children has helped us progress to deeper conversations about consent and internet safety!! If I could add to number 1 on this list, I would say use correct body part names! I'm so thankful to those of you who can spread awareness and information about this sensitive subject better than I can. Keep having those conversations!
